Patty Biederman was born in New Jersey and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She has studied at Columbus Art School, Stephens College, Ohio State University and New York School of Design. Her studies continued at Silvermine Guild, L'Atelier Du Safranier (Antibes, France), Beverly Street School, The Cape Cod School of Art, The Scottsdale Artists School and she's presently studying with Joseph Mendez.
Patty feels that plein air painting is the essence of all that nature has to offer, capturing your emotions for an instant or maybe an hour or two. The presence of light or the sheer beauty of the moment must be recorded quickly. The coastal light of Maine, the South of France and California inspire this artist. She also enjoys painting still life, but prefers to save these paintings for rainy days.
She is a resident of Carmel, California and summers on the East Coast. Her extensive travels continue to inspire her art. Patty is a former owner ofan art gallery in Virginia. Her works are in numerous private and corporate collections across the country.
